The Times - 15 Oct 1998
A SIGNED lithograph of a painting by the Prince of Wales
made £47,000 in Dublin last night at a charity auction
to raise money for the victims of the Omagh bomb (Audrey Magee
writes).
Agnes McCourt, 55, from Newry in Northern Ireland bought
Windsor Castle North Aspect. The previous highest price
for an artwork by Prince Charles was £10,000.
The reproduction of the 1995 watercolour was the last of
some 250 artworks to sell at the auction in Dublin's national
concert hall. Bidding opened at £2,000 and over 50 bids
were placed on the painting.
