Sergei Lyakhovich was born in 1961 in Podporozhe, near St. Petersburg. He graduated from art school and continued his six year art training at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. In 1985, he entered the painting department of
the Academy.
He has established a reputation for his charming slices of impressionistic and luminous life in St. Petersburg and continues to attract a growing number of collectors. His paintings have been exhibited by galleries in
Chicago, New York, Helsinki, Goteborg and London.
